Good ways for homemade wrist / ankle restraints?

Good evening. I'm looking for good ways to make wrist and ankle restraints.

We do not use restraining play very often (and have a tight budget), so I'm going the homemade route. In the past we've tried soft nylon rope, but while I'm comfortable tying it (being an eagle scout good for sex, who would have thought), my wife is not. I'd like something easier to secure in the heat of the moment.

What have you built, or seen work well?

well velcro can be bought in long lengths and is easy to secure and use. Sew a nice lining on the inside of it for protection.
Silk scarves? ties?
just some tips from the top of my head

It depends on the amount of "pull" that will be experienced on the restraints. If they are more for looks that changes the dynamics considerably then if your spouse is a struggler (either on purpose our not).

Perhaps a cheap solution, but not necessarily the best (once again depending on the use), would be a few wide nylon dog collars, easy enough to pick up while out.

Small nylon dog collars can be purchased almost anywhere for a few dollars. Maybe it's just me but walk into a pet store and see nothing but bondage! Grrrr

Velcro is an excellent idea, particularly for feet where you can't even be tempted to try to undo them, and I imagine if you were tying up hands individually.

Dog collars also. That's a really interesting one.

not knowing how far into the Life you two are I have a strange offering. you can buy very cheap toy hand cuffs at most kids toy stores cheap and can be released quickly without a key.

Not for me but then I make my own leather cuffs and am now making them for others by custom orders.

Ultra inexpensive.

4 Tie down extenders. (have a loop at each end.)
4 Double ended clasps or caribiner clips
2 Lengths of rope.

tie down extenders go around ankle or wrist, pass one end through the other ends loop. (ala the one around the handlebar)

the clasp or caribiner connects to the free loop.

thread the rope through the clasp or caribiner, under the bed, and through another of the caribiners, take up the slack, and tie it off. Voila!! A nice spread eagle.

Turn her/him on his belly and just connect the four clasps/caribiners to a heavy jump ring... Hogtied!! (This is less satisfying because it really can't be tautened. But positionally? Excellent!)

If you have a mall go to Spencers.

You can buy fur lined metal handcuffs (with a safety latch) for 12 bucks.

I bought mine there and they work great. and the link between the cuffs can then have rope etc tied to it..

Cheap and they last -nod-
