I have a personal rant that goes back years, hell decades, to air today.

I guess I should start out by saying I am very proud of who and what I am, a Dom/Master, I do not try to hide who I am. It seems that most of us in the lifestyle don't want anyone to know what he or she is. I can't hide who I am and if I did that isn't that saying that the vanilla world is right, that who we are is shameful.

I don't carry a sign or go around tell everyone who I am but at the same time I do not hide that fact.

I am not trying to say that the subs should be out in public wearing handcuffs or collar and leash. About year and a half ago I had a sub that wanted to be my slave but when we were out in public or with vanilla friends she would say witty things to me like "get it yourself", "how is that my problem", even worse was "why should I".

I don't expect overt displays of being submissive in public but I don't think that the bond of power exchange is to be broken even in the nilla world. I did not expect her to call me Master or Sir there but I did expect that she would call me or answer me with curtsey.

In public I all ways would call her "little one" or "my love" to show the world how I felt. The best I got from her in public was "big guy".

I guess what I am saying is that you need to be proud of who you are and realize what we are about is a lot harder to do then a vanilla world pairing. People that know me in either world know that I am honorable and respectful to all that have earned that or haven't done something to discredit themselves.

When a vanilla learns that I am a Dom it comes as no large surprise and I don't apologize for it and answer questions that don't go beyond reasonable privacy issues. Yes, I have lost friends that way but I have also gained more then I have lost. Strangely I have also found that many ladies express a desire and interest in the lifestyle beyond shock and disbelief. Common question is do you harm your woman? Most of the women seem to understand that I never want to harm but to accentuate her pleasure and how it is that the body can be confused into sensing some pain as extraordinary pleasure when mixed with pleasure.

Side note I have had 2 husbands come to me to thank me for opening their wives to new experiences, none have complained.
