Hello Everyone,

I just stumbled across this site today, it's certainly made my day. There is so much here I can learn from. It seems a much more welcoming community than other sites of this type I've seen. I'm new to this way of life, I've been pretty sure I'm a dom for a little while now but I lack the experience to do it well. Whatever I do I like to do it well, so hopefully I can learn from the experiences of those who have been here a while. I suppressed this side of my personality for a long time. In the circles I move in this lifestyle is officially classified as 'wierd'. I feel pretty normal from where I'm sitting so I've decided it's time to follow my instincts.

I have experimented with D/s in the past but my (now former but not for this reason) partner wasn't interested and obviously it's very much a two way process. Having read a few threads here I think I may have tried to run before I could walk in the past. Still, everyone makes mistakes. I think the trick is not to make the same ones twice.

I found the 'Acid test for Doms' thread (which I now can't find again) interesting reading. A great deal of what was written there makes perfect sense to me but I also think I may have got some things wrong in the past. It gave me some good insights into how things appear from a subs perspective. I now know I have more to learn than I thought I did. Everyone has to start from somewhere, this is my beginning.

Anyway, this has rambled on for longer than I intended. I shall stop now and go and learn some more
