My master and I have been working to fix this problem, and I've been making 3 step forwards, 2 steps back type progress. Slow and frustrating.

Well, lately it seems like we've made a break through. All week I did the things I was supposed to do when there was still a reasonable amount of time to do them. Then on Friday I completely rocked it. I got up when Sir did (he gets up crazy early) and started as soon as he left. I did all my studying, ran, did all my chores, and went to my class. I was done 2 whole hours before he was supposed to get home. And then he got home an hour and a half early! He was so surprised everything was done; he was so pleased he was giddy. Usually he's very calm and collected, but he was so excited he was tripping over himself, changing his mind about what he wanted to do with me. I'm still beaming. I feel all warm and fuzzy. Yay!

So I just wanted to share my happy triumph. Maybe someone else has a happy story to share?
    Go you!

One thing, tho... Have you ever considered that you might have ADD? I just realized I had it and it's taken me 38 years to figure out why I always procrastinated, among other things. It's especially hard for women to figure out because we're usually the inattentive type as opposed to the classic, boucing off the walls hyperactive type. A list of symptoms is:

Often does not give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities.

Often has trouble keeping attention on tasks or play activities.

Often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly.

Often does not follow instructions and fails to finish schoolwork, chores, or duties in the workplace (not due to oppositional behavior or failure to understand instructions).

    Often has trouble organizing activities.

Often avoids, dislikes, or doesn't want to do things that take a lot of mental effort for a long period of time (such as schoolwork or homework).

Often loses things needed for tasks and activities (e.g. toys, school assignments, pencils, books, or tools).

    Is often easily distracted.

Is often forgetful in daily activities

    Just a thought

Been there, done that... probably a hundred times (sneaks another American Spirit out of her "last pack") Hey, these are the healthy cigarettes!

Interesting that some of you talk about your Dom helping w/ dieting/weight loss. That is usually such a sensitive subject w/ women. my Man kicked my ass when i was training for my blackbelt but since my test i've been a big slacker & have gained (choke, choke) 30 pounds. We talk about it as instructor/student but not as D/s. A spanking for those chocolate chip cookies beats the hell out of 50 push ups too!

Huh, I do all of those things but I always chaulked it up to my personality. I think I should look into this, can't hurt. I'm pretty sure the university I attend has free screening for that sort of thing. Thanks for the tip!

And thanks again to everyone who offered congrats. I'm still doing good with the not procrastinating, although I haven't rocked it as much as last Friday, I have hope.

Here are some online sources of info if you're interested:

    Wikipedia (of course) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADHD_pr...ly_inattentive

Dr. Amen's site - he's written a really good book on ADD. They also have a test you can take to help narrow down if you might have it
    http://www.brainplace.com/bp/

...Uuuuuuuuhhhh... There's a couple other good sites I can't remember but I'll see if I can find them at work tomorrow. Also, the book "Scattered: How Attention Deficit Disorder Originates And What You Can Do About It" by Gabor Mate (http://ad.doubleclick.net/adi/N2335....rd=3517971875?) is excellent - I got a real "Ah HAH!" feeling from reading about his theory that people develop ADD because they tend to be more sensitive than other infants and they don't get their "attachment needs" (basically love hunger needs) met when they're infants. This leads to a deep, profound feeling of unworthiness and unlovability. Made so much better because we're always screwing up, ya know!

Anyway, hope this helps. Ever since I realized I have ADD, and feeling how much of my life I've wasted on this stupid thing, I'm a woman on a mission to reach others in my position.

    Good luck!

... Ok, here are a couple other good sites:

    www.adult-adhd.com
    www.doreka.com/add
    www.add.org
    www.samgoldstein.com

The last is the website of a doctor who does a lot of work with ADHD in children and adults - you can find a lot of good articles on ADD in the articles section.
