Something symbolic, my hand cupping her chin, extending my fingertips and regrabbing her chin including the side of the cheek, has all the intent of a slap, gets the same emotional reaction, and establishes her submission... when something has occurred that garners a moment of rebellion.

Ehhem...ANYWAY LOL!!
I had a bad relationship and used to freak out when anyone put their hands near my face. The first time He did I was shocked and then realized how turned on I was by it. I suppose the fact that we have a deep love and trust allows me to accept his hand slapping my face as a form of discipline or smply as an attention grabber when I am being "bratty". Sometimes it does bring tears to my eyes, but I really think thats more of the humiliation aspect of being slapped in the face. For me humiliation does it every time...that and knowing that I could stop him if I wanted to but dont/wont!!!

I like having my face slapped lightly -- more symbolically than anything else. My GF really likes to be slapped, sometimes pretty hard. It makes me a little nervous to do it, because I wouldn't want to hit her eye or something. :-/

Its a major trigger for me...so if I would agree to have that done to me, it would have to be with someone I feel safe with and whom I trust to be "gentle", it certainly couldn't be used as discipline for myself without negative consequences and or on a regular basis.

but overall my instinct if someone's hand comes towards my face is to make sure they go down before I do. Thankfully, I've never had to lay a hand on another in my life.

Although, perhaps that's the attraction. Siipgirl mentioned it's almost more the humility of accepting.
