    New, post-recovery problems.

    Two actually.

First: Remember the problems we had with the forum "displaying" wider than a single window? It's returned with a vengence. I use the standard I.E. 8 Browser, version 8.0.6001.18702 I have to scroll right to see the last two menu bar items.

Second: When I first link in to the forum, if I don't do something in the forum right away and "go" somewhere, it clicks over to some ad (that doesn't exist) and takes me to a generic search page like google suggesting alternative string searches. I literally can't stay "on site" long enough to browse down the page.

oh... and the text is running outside (and behind) the bounds of the quote-box as drawn by the software.

im not having probs. as described. I use Chrome (3.0.195.38 if that makes a difference) I do get random BDSM porn sites opening new windows on me, but I think my touch pad mouse is just a piece of you know what.
another 2 cents, down the drain!

    No issues at all, using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7

I am using IE 8 and only get problem one.

Guera - a lot of BDSM sites are notorious for opening lots of windows. I used to have this problem until I disabled pop ups and then it stopped.

Another thing everyone needs to check is spyware/adware and viruses... run adaware (www.lavasoft.com) and see what comes up. Most PCs attract hundreds of adware intrusions which can cause all sorts of problems. Mostly these are harmless (in that they don't impact system performance, they still tell advertisers which sites you look at...) but some can be malicious either because they upload personal information/keystrokes (thereby risking someone else getting hold of your credit card number or passwords) or because they eat up processing power and/or bandwidth.

Running Firefox 3.5.7 and not having any problems at all. I also have the Adblock Plus and the NoScript addons, which stops a lot of the ad crap that tries to break through.

The biggest problem I have is, when responding to post in the forums, the time since my last visit will sometimes change and the new posts since my last visit will change, even if I haven't visited them. I suppose there's some sort of timer involved in that.

This is where the browser tries to send me:

I think it's one of your front page ads.

Ok, will ry to 'answer' the issues,,,

First, as far as the text or overall image being "off-center" to the left, MOST of the time this only occurs when your in a smaller frame,,once opened to full frame MOST of this is gone. And at present theres nothing to be fixed, centering is a very touchy adjustment on the site, as needed we'll adjust.

Second, as far as being "linked" into another site upon entrance very odd and seems to be a singular issue, may be a filter/spam issue, may be something clicking in like a double mouse hit,??? unknown, nothing to fix here.

Third, reference posts there is no time limit on when they stay "on-top" of the area, once someone posts into another thread in same area the post is shifted, the most current posts are always on-top. Recomend in lieu of selecting the latest post/trhead from the far right column instead select the main catagory on the left and review all threads/posts.

    Hopefully this answers the "issues"

...and, due to a total meltdown of my motherboard, I treated myself to a new cpu.

And now, everything fits... It has to do with the combination of the text size you use and the resolution the member has. I can see everything on one screen-width now, and can recreate the problem by changing the text size I display (but it only affects the posts and not the menu bar) or I can recreate it in total by using the magnifier...

So... others who experience the problem can try altering their resolution.

In any case, thanx for looking into it.
