That's a sad reality, but it also means that there are lots of good and wise folk who will help you as much as they can. You might start by reading their thread on "one thing you could say to a new sub." Their advice is sound and consistent. From there, perhaps, you might seek some of them out - in chat, fun and games, or in private - to begin growing relationships that might steady and guide you.
