Her steps filled with terror, she stumbles
Her thoughts flit to the past, she crumbles
She picks herself up as the tears fall
Fighting her demons from building that wall
And she walks on…

Her feet so heavy she wants to quit
She feels pain as though she’d been hit
Thought after thought come flooding in
She faces them down, sin after sin
And she walks on…

Onward and forward she makes her way
She refuses to quit, she refuses to stray
Exhaustion unbearable, silence surrounds
Left to herself, self loathing abounds
And she walks on…

Through the haze of her shadowy past
A flicker of hope shines on her at last
As she continues, the light becomes brighter
A radiant reward for this self doubting fighter
And she walks on…

Not thinking or caring of things left undone
She basks in the warmth of the unending One
An unburdened heart and a spirit worth keeping
She starts on a journey, her soul done weeping
And she walks on…
