    meeting people in person

So how do BDSM people meet in person. Are there conventions and stuff? Anything in the Northeast of the United States?

They go to event's called 'munches'. This is usually at a restaurant, completely vanilla, except for the topic of conversation. Google your city, BDSM and munch - I expect you'll find what you're seeking.

    Good luck!
Working too much....and unfortunately not online as much as I'd like.

Yep, lot's has been said about munches, in theory and practical experiences. I suggest using the search to find those threads.

It's also easier to become involved in the conventions and stuff if you know some local people... so again, munch first, play later.

Yes muches is the very best way to get started, relaxed atmosphere and (well I don't know about your area but.....) in my experience friendly people.

And its certainly not anything just for those who just gotten started, I prefer munches myself over BDSM parties (only attend one of the latter about once a year.)

Do a google search. "munch" and the city, area or region you live in.

lol Jesus - just out of curiosity I googled it for my home town - and there are like 8 regular events! I might actually go there one day when I'm back home and bring up the courage - lol good luck. Thanks for the info though!
Some say the world will end in fire,
    Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
    Is also great
    And would suffice.

    Here's a link to one of the largest coverage sites on the net for finding Munches and other Events you may want to attend;
