R.T.C. SHANTY

Oh! My black cat is a clever little cat
As she sails out on the water,
She’s got a little boat and she likes to stay afloat
It’s one of the things I’ve taught her!

Her coat is long and shiny as sails upon the briney
And the decks are brass and teak
She manages to bail with her teeth and her tail
Any time her vessel springs a little leak!

She’s a clever little Kit as she tacks around the spit
And she’s packed her fish and biscuits
She keeps herself warm as she runs before the storm
She’s headed for the harbour and won’t risk it!

She’s had a lot of fun out sailing in the sun
Now she draws close to the jetty
She knows how to cope and she ties up with the rope
That clever black furry little Kitty!
