A story inspired by various Naked in School series originated, I believe, by Karen Wagner. The year is 2015. The government is in a monetary crisis. Pensions, unemployment benefits and welfare payments were bankrupting them. The pensions were kept but all other payments were summarily stopped. People who were on these benefits could volunteer to become slaves and be kept and fed by individuals or as part of a firm's labour force. In order to eat this was usually their only option. Minor criminals too were often sentenced to periods of slavery rather than being incarcerated in expensive to run prisons. |

An excellent story with good characterization and enough information (without over doing it) to help the reader to understand the future society this story is set in. My only quibble is if this is in our universe, rather than an alternative universe, it is probably not too far enough in the future ..... mind you seeing how things are financially in 2011 perhaps obohobo will be right.

I like this story and hate this story. It keeps sneaking changes on characters, one minute I'm glad they're suffering, the next I feel pity.
Except for Bill.
As always with your work, the story is well done and well-paced. Playing in this new universe (more or less new, I guess) looks like fun. Anxious for more! (10/10)

Well done, I am looking forward to the continuing adventures. This story is staged in the future, but that does not detract from the work, as it sometimes does in other stories. (9/10)

i liked the story, the only issue i have is that stories set way back in time or in the future i do not realy care for, but there are eceptions to everything (9/10)
