Uh, let's see...
First off, I wanted to give this story an even worse review but inexplicably, in its third quarter, it managed to hit certain tempo that was, in some strange way pleasing. However it didn't really manage to save it, plus the ending is again quite bad.
Right, on with it then: for starters, I realise what this story is trying to do: quick and dirty depraved rape tale that throws everything it can think of to the wall and waits to see if anything sticks. No real plot, no real characters, no attempts at plausibility, just merciless action. I guess it's common belief that these stories are easier to write and more fun to read because porn is all about sex etc... Well, this one doesn't really work for me.
Technically speaking it's a bit of a mess. Grammar is far from perfect, there are tense-related issues and, once the main action starts, the author just does away with paragraphs making an already hard-to-read story even harder. So, technically speaking this is not passable.
Sadly, the content doesn't really make up for the lack of form. And, this is not about this not being my proverbial 'cup of tea', it's just lazy. I am all for brutal, pointlessly violent ultra non-PC rape stories, but this one isn't really trying. Whenever an author invests a very pronounced effort to describe the hair and list the measures of protagonists within the first 10 percent of the story, I know the reader is in trouble. And this is the case here.
The characters are totally unbelievable, so much in fact that the premise of a family raping their youngest member is totally devoid of strength. There is no sense of any kind of social/ biological/ moral/ religious taboos being broken which defeats the whole point of the storyline then. The shopping list of fetishes COULD help were it not just that: a list, with no depth to any of them, no time/ effort spent to actually let these fetishes work their magic (and curiously, there is no hint of anal sex in all the carnage happening here). A story featuring a 13 virgin year old raped by her father with the help of her mother and videotaped by her brother, featuring a woman in fetish suit who has been breastfeeding for the last 16 years, featuring bondage, slavery and snuff should NOT allow itself to be this bland and unimaginative.
Moreover, the crucial sin of the story is that it spares little effort to dwell on the psychological/ spiritual dimensions of the whole ordeal which is really inexcusable. Some half-hearted comments by the father on the way he feels and the way he imagins his daughter must feel are so short, modest and devoid of any imagination that the story fails to produce any emotional response in me. On top of it, the ending is so comically compressed into few sentences with so many new fetishes trying to be covered that it renders the whole thing completely campy which, I imagine was not the intention.
There... I am very sorry that I use some really harsh words to describe a work of art by a person I have never met and who I have nothing against. But this is how I feel about he story and I can't seem to find many redeemable features in it. The subject matter and what little of the plot there is could make for an enjoyable tale of depravity but literally everything else here would need to be thorughly adressed and remade from scratch...
