As a preface to "My Last Thoughts", this seems far more 'real/serious' than the aformentioned.
First couple of paragraphs are a bit of a shambles, as the author seems like she wants to say too much too soon in too little words and too little time.
Also, the strong sense of justice and the adamant purposefulness of the main character is in strong contrast -as in a 90-degree angle- to the content/person of the first story.
Wonder where this is gonna lead. In fact, I don't wonder, as I know little miss righteous is gonna get (Monty?) python-ed...
Overall -and I know this is just the start of the start- I feel that Cathy should take a deep breath, hit the breaks, and get some order in her storyline, else that storyline is gonna be all over the place... but I guess things will become less confusing as we go along.
Whatever the case, this start-off is intriguing, to say the least.
