Reviewing Stories - Just do it! (swish)

I wish there were an option to review a story and leave comments without assigning a numerical score. Even more than my normal discomfort with numerical reviews, I find it especially difficult to grade something that isn't finished. It feels like there are relatively few stories in the library that are absolutely finished and ready for grading, but I still feel the urge to leave comments for the authors.

I know that I could just message or email the authors, but isn't as fulfilling as writing a public review.


I do second the notion of requiring students to review as an assignment. Perhaps level two could use it, as it feels like the sparsest of the levels in terms of assignments.

You can leave comments and a numerical grade, and mention that if the author corrects things, you'll come back and upgrade. And then do so.

I've done it and it was mutually rewarding for me and the author.
